The problem
The most valuable business connections in Bali live in ephemeral WhatsApp groups — unsearchable, unreliable and impossible to be found in. Newcomers can't find trusted suppliers, and established businesses can't get discovered by the right people.
What I built
A persistent, searchable directory and community marketplace with tiered membership. Full-text search by category and location, a bulletin board, events with RSVP, jobs, deals and newsletter slots — all backed by a deep admin and analytics back office, and an AI engine that finds and qualifies new members automatically.
Bali Business Base replaces scattered, unsearchable WhatsApp groups with a persistent, members-only platform for Dutch and European entrepreneurs across Indonesia. It combines a searchable directory, community board, events and deals with international payments and a sophisticated AI-powered prospecting engine running behind the scenes.
What makes it notable
Tiered membership & dual payments
Free, Community and Business tiers with smart routing between Stripe (EU cards, iDEAL) and Xendit (IDR, QRIS, GoPay), plus founder-pricing logic and webhook-driven downgrades.
AI prospecting engine
Claude (Sonnet + cheaper Haiku pre-filter) scores and classifies leads scraped via Apify, resolves contact emails through Findymail, and sends personalized outreach with per-vendor budget throttling.
Full-text directory & SEO pages
Supabase PostgreSQL full-text search across categories and 7 locations, with auto-generated category and location pages carrying LocalBusiness schema markup.
Bilingual by design
English and Dutch via Next.js [locale] routing, type-safe translation dictionaries, hreflang canonicals and per-locale metadata.
Enterprise admin suite
13+ admin pages plus super-admin analytics for audit logs, engagement, financials, growth funnels, retention signals and full outreach visibility.
Community & trust features
Bulletin board, events with RSVP, jobs and internships, deals, newsletter booking and verified badges — with Row-Level Security and a soft-delete account lifecycle.
